Some Videos Featuring Bridge Base Online

Whether you call it Bridge Base, BBO or Bridge Base Online, it remains one of the most popular online communities of card players worldwide – and with the number of players live on BBO currently on the increase, there’s a wealth of videos that get recorded with Bridge Base Online as a playing platform.

It certainly isn’t hard to create your own screen-captured video using BBO, and this has led to even more great videos from an entire community of bridge players. If you have some time to use on YouTube, look up bridge and you’ll never get bored.

Here are some great videos that were made using BBO – many of which can teach you a few new tricks at the same time.

How to Use BBO from Peter Hollands

Peter Hollands is one of the most prolific bridge game uploaders on YouTube right now, and certainly one of the most notable online players in the game. He’s become a bridge celebrity that many people have encountered, partnered with and challenged – and we’re glad to say that he’s also a BBO regular.

Here’s his guide on how to navigate the world of Bridge Base, starting with a video on how to make your way around BBO Money Bridge.

Once you’re done with that, there’s a literal treasure trove of videos from Peter Hollands’ channel covering tournaments, challenges, random bridge thoughts, lessons and more stuff.

Installing the App on iPad

I’d guess this is like the software version of an unboxing video, if you’re into those. This short video was uploaded by YouTube user Paul Royle, and runs through how to install the BBO App on an iPad.

Bridge Bingo

Have you ever heard of a little game called Bridge Bingo? It’s one of the unique varieties of bridge that you can find live on BBO – and it combines the game of bridge with the excitement of calling out “Bingo!” when you’ve struck metaphorical gold. Here’s an official BBO introductory video to show you what gameplay is all about.

BBO Lesson: Interesting Hands from Tournaments

As an uploader with hundreds upon hundreds of bridge videos to watch, it’s only natural that one more entry for this column would have to include Peter Hollands once again. This time, the video covers a range of interesting and notable hands that Peter has spotted during BBO tournaments – and his thoughts on how they were played. If you love live gaming commentary, have fun with this one.

Tips for Playing with BBO Robots

Fine, one more: I don’t think there’s a single bridge topic out there that Peter Hollands hasn’t made a video on just yet. (I’ve tested this and looked: The amount of covered topics made my head spin.) Here’s one of his longer lesson videos for bridge players that clocks in at just under 26 minutes. It tells you a little more about what you should know when playing against BBO Bots instead of human players – with some very useful tips.

BBO is (the) Place Where Bridge Players Hang Out

YouTube can be the equivalent of climbing into a time machine, hitting your palm on the keypad and seeing where it takes you. In this case, let’s go back to 9 years ago from the time this sentence was written for a throwback posted to YouTube by Bridge Union. Here’s a quick talk with Fred Gitelman about why BBO is the place to be for any bridge player. A great find!

How to Challenge a Friend on BBO

A slightly older video from the BBO Channel dealing with user instructions, here’s a quick video that walks you through how to challenge a friend.

Chris Chung’s BBO Challenges

I’m always glad when I see bridge challenges. It has the feel of an old-school duel. Chris Chung uploads some of these regularly, and his videos are worth a watch – and of course, captured with BBO.

His BBO challenges start with a challenge against user thymepuns and the first of his BBO Challenges was posted to YouTube about three years ago. Enjoy!
