Bridge Base Online isn’t just made up out a large, majestic beeping server and a robot named GIB kept in a room that’s labeled as TOP SECRET. 

It’s also made up out of a lot of staff members that work behind the scenes to ensure that your bridge experience is a smooth one. [They are not, of course, kept in the room labeled TOP SECRET at all, but allowed to roam free. (Yes, I’m kidding)]

These are administrators, programmers, support staff and behind-the-scenes people that dedicate a lot of their time to the game. More specifically, to ensuring the quality of yours. 

And then, there are the players of BBO. There are many, and the number of active players on BBO is continuing to go up. Thanks to you, too: The more, the merrier might be a cliché, but it applies here. (Ask literally everyone you know to join and see who bites. That’s your challenge for the week.) 

I’ve been writing this column for a while, and I figured that now is a great time to thank everyone at BBO who has been dedicating their efforts to bridge, more bridge and better bridge being played all over the world – especially during the heights of the COVID-19 pandemic, where bridge has been one of the best ways to stay sane.

The bridge world is rapidly changing, evolving and moving forward. BBO and the people who make up its user-base have certainly made themselves a huge part of why – and I can say that the world wouldn’t be the same without BBO being in it.
