1. Declarer Play NT
Here’s a clear lesson in what to do with the Notrump contract as declarer from YouTube user Matt Mulamphy. The video measures in at around an hour-long, and it’s the recommended options if you have enough time on your hands for the whole lesson.
2. Basic Declarer Play Techniques
Basic Declarer Play Techniques is a series of five videos, uploaded to YouTube by Bridge with Patty. They’re great if you’re watching with time constraints, and videos from her series only measures at approximately 5 minutes per video.

3. Counting a hand as declarer
Counting a hand is as important of a technique for new bridge players as it will remain for the professional or seasoned bridgeur. Tbis simple, well-explained lesson tells you everything you need to know – and gets some bonus points for using Bridge Base as their chosen playing platform!
4. BBO Robot Declarer Play
If you want to know more about the BBO bot and how it plays at the table, you can check out this great video from Peter Hollands. Play against bots often? Well, then any resource you can find on robot play is pure gold – and you’ll dig looking into this.
5. Plan your Declarer play based on the bidding
Counted up your points like the video a few entries up suggested? Good – now take advice from uploader Mark Nehs next and plan your playing based on the bidding. Bidding can’t be ignored if you want to be a half-decent bridge player, and this is an excellent foundational video.
6. Declarer play in NT
Here’s another lesson-style video drilling through important declarer techniques when you’re in a Notrump contract. This time, it’s from Tony Shaw Bridge Class, and clocks in at approximately 32 minutes. That’s about as long as the average television episode, except you’ll learn something about the game!
7. Learn modern bridge: Declarer play – count your losers
It’s easy to get stuck on high-card points at the start of the game. This video from Learn Modern Bridge is an excellent reminder to look at your potential losers, too. The advice here will carry through just as well from any other seat in the table: pay attention!
