    Hand 2 4N is Blackwood

I don’t understand why DBL is not at least an option in problem 2. In my opinion DBL is not an unreasonable bid.

Because doubling your own partner’s bid is not good for partnership harmony Ken! Although if it was allowed your partner could alert it and possibly explain it as “partner thinks my last bid was a damn silly one and wants me to think again, as I’m not going to make it!” They could even call it the Bibby Conventional Double after you?! 🙂

Just want to print out my answers. Also was unable to print out problems to study before answering. But last month, I couldn’t even take quiz so we are moving along. Gayle Tunnell

Can’t you email us our answers after we submit them? We can’t be expected to remember what we submitted weeks ago.

Hello! Where could I see answers to the first part of this bidding challenge?

  13. Susan Rowles

I play with English friends and we all play Weak NT and Benjamin ACOL with 3♦️our strongest opening bid. It would be interesting to know what the conventions are which are outlined in yellow, as they are probably not at all the same as we would play. We wondered if there is a U.K. BBO?

Hi Sue – there’s only one BBO and it’s the same for everyone regardless of where you are. You can read about the system used in the bidders challenge here https://blog.bridgebase.com/2020/11/30/prime-bidders-challenge-si/

How do we find out what would have been the preferred bids?

    1. Paul Sutton

Hi Marion – we’ll likely be publishing experts comments tomorrow. These are added to the BBO newsfeed and everyone who takes part will receive an email with their score and a link to the experts comments page.
