Takeout doubles can cause awkward spots for us. We are looking to define our hands both in terms of points and shape. For instance, when we are doubling a minor, we are looking for both 5-3 and 4-4 fits in both majors and also whether we have game values. This is always going to be a hard task, but there is a pretty simple agreement that will often make your life easier. Here it is: jump responses show 5+ cards. While this is not the standard response structure, it is a pretty simple and effective agreement. Here I will show you some example hands and how it can help.
