8 Perfect Times for Just Declare

If you think you don’t have the time for a bridge game during most of your schedule, you haven’t seen Just Declare. It’s a great way to practice your skills away from the table and keep your game fresh – and you can play it at any time you like (except maybe while operating heavy machinery).

Here are a few suggestions for times to get out your smartphone for a quick game.

1. As a Study Break

If you’re a scholar or student, Just Declare is a great way to take a break from the studying routine while still keeping your brain going at the same time. You don’t have to spend your entire break playing bridge, but you’ll likely be surprised at how much it can help to do it for just a few minutes.

2. During a Coffee Break

Most people I know drink coffee (and if you don’t, you surely aren’t a rare species of human that needs no liquid to survive and almost certainly drink something else in its place).

A coffee break is a great time to play Just Declare. You’re right in the middle of the game for a few minutes, and once your break ends you can go back to whatever you were doing before this – without angering any real-life players that you abandoned a game.

3. Noodles, Anyone?

Some people call them “two minute noodles” while others have a variation on the amount of minutes (and a few just side with the term “instant noodles” or Ramen for short).

If you’re waiting around for any kind of microwave or stovetop meal, play Just Declare while you wait for your noodles (or roast, for that matter).

Play for as long as you want: And when you’re done, you’ll probably have worked up some kind of appetite.

4. Waiting in Line

Waiting in line is one of the universal hatreds experienced in most parts of the world. Very few people actually enjoy doing it, and depending on what you’re waiting for and where, it can take anything from a few minutes to a few hours to see the line moving forward.

Stuck waiting? There’s no better time for a few games of Just Declare.

5. Can’t Sleep?

Insomnia is one of the creepiest books I’ve ever read. It’s also a chronic health condition with a thousand different causes. If you can’t sleep, Just Declare is a great way to count tricks instead of sheep to get back to bed.

6. A New Way to Wake Up

A lot of people take a few minutes in the morning to wake up, myself included. If this also includes you, fire up Just Declare during the first few minutes of your morning to see how well you’ve woken up: It can get your brain firing when you’re still fogged up from the night before – and the average game doesn’t take long enough to make you late for anything.

7. Unwinding Time

Everyone unwinds: If you don’t, you’re going to either explode inwards or outwards pretty soon. A quick game of Just Declare is one of the best ways to unwind whether you’re trying to relax after a rough day or work off some anger.

8. Backseat Declarer

If you aren’t actively driving the vehicle, there’s no rule that says you can’t play Just Declare in the car. Driving can be tedious when someone else is doing it (and for some, horrible carsickness is part of the driving experience).

A few games of Just Declare can make any trip – including ones on public transport like buses or taxis – go a lot faster.
