Other than the probably thousands of websites I visit within the course of a few days, there are a few Browser Constants that always remain in the Bookmarks tab. Some of these are related to social media and site admin, but most of these are related to bridge.
Here are the 4 bridge documents that every bridge player needs to bookmark and why.
1. The Laws of Duplicate Bridge
The Laws of Duplicate Bridge were first released in 1928 by the World Bridge Federation. Since then, there have been several updates to the original document – and it’s worth reading for any bridge player who feels like they haven’t brushed up on the rules for a while or who wants to pick up the game again after an absence.
2. The ACBL Laws of Rubber Bridge
As the song goes, how can you have any pudding if you don’t eat yer meat? And of course, how can you show up at a game of rubber bridge without having read the rules? Here they are thanks to the ACBL, the updated Laws of Rubber Bridge as a useful reference for anyone who needs a refresher.
3. The Code of Laws for Electronic Bridge
Players who spend a lot of their time playing online games might appreciate the Code of Laws for Electronic Bridge, put together for the regulation and fairness of online bridge games on platforms like BBO.
4. The ACBL Bridge Glossary
The ACBL Bridge Glossary is your go-to reference for looking up any terms related to the game whether you’re a student, a player returning to the game or entirely new. It’s searchable, comprehensive and contains pretty much everything you’d want to run someone through (or might have forgotten over the course of a few years not playing).
