The Bridge player profile

In 2019 a great number of bridge players around the world cooperated in order to launch the largest bridge survey ever.

The aim of the survey was to clearly define the profile of the average bridge player and to comprehend the reason why Bridge engages million of people worldwide.

The survey has been filled in by nearly 15,000 Bridge players. Players answered hundreds of questions such as “Why and where do you play Bridge?“, and “Do you consider Bridge a sport?“.

An infographic highlighting the answers collected from the Bridge players’ surveys is available below.

Agree. The old system.is clearer and the colors are.more pleasing to my eyes. The other night I wasn’t able to find my placements on the new system! I had to use the old!

I do not like the new version of BBO. I the other version is much easier to look at profiles, what other hands have done with the hand just played and to chat also. Please go back to the old version.

I wonder why France has so many members of its federation. Perhaps the rest of us need to see what we can do to emulate them.

    Does the USA include Canada…

i also prefer the old version. one thing in particular is now when you start typing, one is typing in the wrong space. before one could start typing and it would automatically type in the chat, where its supposed to be. thank you.

The old version was much better. Why can’t the new version duplicate it?

you will note, many of the players are elderly. They all learned the old version. At our age, it is too late to learn all over again. As a result, you have lost hundreds of players. You say it is only good until January 2021, so for heaven’s sake let the old people enjoy the few remaining months of their lives!

Many do not enjoy duplicate and regular bridge which has been played for years and years is their only enjoyment. I have heard many conversations saying that bridge has lost its following because some newly learned person is changing the rules. Did you ever think that you should try to please the few patrons you have left, rather than drive them away?

BRING BACK THE OLD VERSION, EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO CHARGE. I AM SURE THEY WOULD ALL AGREE TO A MINIMAL CHARGE, RATHER THAN GIVE UP THE GAME! Otherwise, you are losing them completely!

The new version is disappointing. Plead return the old version before Jan 2021 or will it be a new new version?

I don’t like the new version of BBO. I want to look at the hands after playing them and see how they should have been played.

Who are the cover girls on the new entry page? Are they bridge players or just models who were taught how to hold cards?
