The NABC Robot Individual is coming! As of 2019, it awards 50% more ACBL Masterpoints than in previous years. Registration opens November 8 (Friday) and if you register early you receive a $10 discount. If you played the 2019 Summer NABC Robot Individual, you get another $6 discount. Read the NABC info page for details.

What’s the NABC Robot Individual like? You don’t need to guess. Try the free NABC Practice Tournament this weekend (November 9-10) to see for yourself. You’ll find the NABC Practice Tournaments in the ACBL WORLD section of BBO this weekend.

Tournament Conditions of Play:

  • These practice tournaments are free and use advanced robots. Click here for the robot system notes.
  • ACBL membership is required. Click here to check if BBO has your ACBL number on file.
  • Each tournament is 12 boards, Matchpoints scoring.
  • Each daily session lasts 24 hours. You must complete your daily boards before midnight US Eastern Time.
  • Unplayed boards are scored as 0 (zero).
  • You need to play at least 1 board each day to advance to the next day.
  • Not everyone will be dealt the same boards.
  • You need to play each day to progress to the next day. To spell it out – You can’t play on Sunday without playing on Saturday.
  • At the end of each day, you will receive a leaderboard with “mock masterpoints” that will show you what you would have earned had this been the real NABC. These are not real points.

Prizes:

We’ll give out Free Entries to the actual NABC Robot Individual (November 23-25), as follows:

  • Free entry to the winners of NABC Practice tournament – Day 1, for each stratum
  • Free entry to the winner of NABC Practice tournament – Day 2, for each stratum
  • Free entries to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall
  • Free entries to 1st in each stratum overall
  • If a free entry winner already has registered to the NABC Robot Individual, their entry fee will be refunded
  • If the overall winners have already won free entry in one of the previous sessions, the prize goes to next place (3rd, 4th, etc.)

I have got ACBL Membership and I can’t register to NABAC Practice. What’s going on?

The ACBL number we have on file for you is not valid. You can update it by clicking Update ACBL number in ACBL world.

A pop-up prompting you to update your ACBL number will open if you try to register as well, so you can use that to check whether the number we have on file for you is correct – and update it.

Do you have to be resident in the USA to become an ACBL member?
The ACBL registration form definitely doesn’t accept my UK phone number!

I would like to play the practice and my ACBL number is on file, but I only see the one for $40. I looked in ACBL world.

@Bbrad1 and @h2osmom -> I see both of your posts as on Sunday, November 10th. It is supposed to be by midnight, November 9th, EASTERN STANDARD TIME (the caps are only for emphasis). If it makes you two feel better, I missed out as well, because I thought I had until midnight PST.

I played Day 1 of NABC practice tournament (all 12 boards), but now don’t see the link to play Day 2. Moreover, in the completed tournaments, the boards I played for Day 1 show as Day 2 with provisional results. No results for Day 1. Is this a bug? How can it be solved? Thanks!

I guess I’ll be defending my title.
