NABC Practice this weekend: November 16-17

The Fall NABC Robot Individual is approaching, November 23-25, so get ready, read up on the Conditions of Contest to make sure you’re not missing something important, and – most of all – practice!

NABC Practice Tournament #2 takes place this weekend, November 16-17, and it’s almost identical to the real thing. As an added bonus, this free ACBL tournament will also award actual ACBL masterpoints and free entries to the NABC Robot Individual!

You’ll find the NABC Practice Tournaments in the ACBL WORLD section of BBO this weekend. Plan for Saturday! This is a 2 day event, so you must play each day, you can’t “catch up” later.

Tournament Conditions of Play:

  • These practice tournaments are free and use advanced robots. Click here for the robot system notes.
  • ACBL membership is required. Click here to check if BBO has your ACBL number on file.
  • Each tournament is 12 boards, Matchpoints scoring.
  • Each tournament expires at midnight US Eastern time.
  • Unplayed boards are scored as 0 (zero).
  • You need to play at least 1 board each day to advance to the next day.
  • You need to play each day to progress to the next day. To spell it out – You cannot play on Sunday without playing on Saturday.
  • Not everyone will be dealt the same boards.
  • At the end of each day, you will receive a leaderboard with “mock masterpoints” that will show you what you would have earned had this been the real NABC. These are not real points.
  • Separately from the mock masterpoints, this tournament will also award real masterpoints (similar to the usual ACBL Daylongs)

Prizes:

We’ll give out Free Entries to the actual NABC Robot Individual (November 23-25), as follows:

  • Free entry to the winners of NABC Practice tournament – Day 1, for each stratum
  • Free entry to the winner of NABC Practice tournament – Day 2, for each stratum
  • Free entries to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall
  • Free entries to 1st in each stratum overall
  • If a free entry winner already has registered to the NABC Robot Individual, their entry fee will be refunded
  • If the overall winners have already won free entry in one of the previous sessions, the prize goes to next place (3rd, 4th, etc.)

Please email acbl@bridgebase.com if you have troubles updating your ACBL number. They’ll help update it for you or let you know what the problem is.

The ACBL World button is on the BBO website, not on this news announcement.

If you did not play yesterday, you will not see today’s session. This is a 2-day event, if you missed the first session you can’t play the next day.
