I held back considerably, thus the makeable (GRAND) slam was deftly avoided.
Vickie ruffed out West’s ♠5 lead, cashed ♥AK, then ♦10-J-Q held. Then she exited 3rd ♥ to East’s Q and ruffed the ♠ back with ♥10, her last trump. Now 2nd ♦ to K-Ace, ♦ back to her 9.
All this went ZIP-ZAP-ZOP at lightning speed.
Finally she triumphantly rammed the ♦8 forward, but she sluffed … MY ♥7?
Immediately I tweeted one fateful word – “CATASTROPHIC” … The play then ground to a halt. The earth stopped spinning and lurched stock-still for 5 full minutes!
She tried to play ♦7 from her hand. NO!
She tried claiming the rest. NOO!
She tried punching all her buttons with her nose. NOOO!
Opponents skreetching, directors demanding. NOOOO!
As you can see, she had endplayed ME, the DUMMY with our last precious trump!
Finally, poor panic-stricken Vickie was kicked out of the toonimint for bad behavior and replaced with a sub. (“WHY, WHY” she wailed…)
The director assigned us just ONE more trick — the ♣ Ace, so we went down -200 instead of +1430.
I couldn’t do anything but LOL and ROFL insanely as 10 IMPs and our high overall finish evaporated. When she was allowed back in, two boards later, little Vickie tweeted pathetically – “I STILL DON’T KNOW WHERE I WENT WRONG!”

Most unkind of you to post this…..
It is not unkind. It happens to all of us. Creates a lasting memory and a good laugh.
I remember distinctly when a partner of mine – a very good player – holding Ax opposite Kx created an endplay by playing the K to the A and then exited in the suit! A triumph!
I do this about once a week. It’s a good thing Joan loves me. Very funny, thanks for sharing 🙂
