What Does Your Name Mean?

We all have a little story about how come we were given the name we now wear and what it means — either in general, or to our family.

This Sunday, March 8, you are invited to tell us your name and share what it means, in the What Does Your Name Mean? tournament, hosted by Aurora.

Let’s not forget that March 8th is also Women’s Day in many countries around the world. Bring flowers to your mother, wife, girlfriend and important women in your life.

How to Celebrate?

  • Talk to your parents or family members about your name.
  • Ask them why they gave you your name and what it means.
  • With a little bit of research, you may be able to find out more about the meaning of your name.
  • Join us this Sunday for the What Does Your Name Mean? tournament and we can google names together.

When?
Sunday, March 8, at 2PM US Eastern Time (8PM Central European Time).

Where?

  • The name Aurora comes from Aurora Borealis, which means the Northern lights (Canadian friend).
  • Aurora is of Latin origin and it means “Arrival of the sun” and “Goddess of Dawn” from the Roman mythological goddess. Also North and Southern lights! (Swedish friend)
  • Aurora is of Latin origin and means “Goddess of dawn” (friend from Minnesota, USA)
  • The name Aurora is of English origin and means “Gift of loving God” (friend from Illinois, USA).
  • Aurora means “Northern or Southern lights (Aurora Borealis/Australia)” and is of English origin (friend from Taiwan).

Prénom d’origine latine, Marius fut le patronyme d’une noble famille romaine. Il dériverait du mot « mas » se traduisant par « viril ». Marius serait également issu de « mare » signifiant « mer ».
