Beginner Lesson- Story of the Hand

In this video, I outline a technique that will help you make better decisions in the auction and outside of it! Listening to the “story of the hand” will help you remember the auction. Assessing when you have “told you story” and when you have not will tell you when to act again… or not!

    Hello 🙂
    I really like his teaching.

I would like it even more if hi could adress women to, not only guys.

I think this is an examle of unintended, unconscious but very effectfull kind of discrimination. It is an example of microagression (sociologi) and the term is videly used in debate of racial discrimination.

As if women do not exist! And in bridge we often get this feeling.

Thanks for great lessons 🙂 I hope for a lot more 🙂

Excellent comment! I could not agree more!

I refer to everyone as”guys”… as in “Hi guys” to a mixed group. Sounds trivial to say he is only speaking to men.

      Hi Macgwyer,

I really appreciate your bringing this to my attention. It was indeed unconscious and I apologize! Currently, more than half of my students are dedicated, talented women, and I hope that they have not felt similarly excluded by me or in the bridge world. Though I may stumble, I will do my best to use more inclusive language in the future!

Very good lesson. Counting is of utmost importance, more so as bridge players progress to upper levels.

This helped me today in a game I played. Liked the “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it.” Saved me and my partner!

I enjoyed this lesson. Is there a way to see the previous lesson about counting?

If you click the “by cypress 708” written in yellow under the title of this video, it will send you to a page where this and the counting lessons are stored. Once there, just click on the lesson you would like to watch.

Needs to speak louder. Volume is at max on my PC and I can hardly hear him.

Very enjoyable commentary and thought process. Always good to go back to basics! Also no offense taken at the use of guys! It’s a genetic term these days when speaking to a group of people regardless of gender! 🙏❤️
