Can I play even if I don’t take a vow of simplicity?

After having vowed to cut out unimportant things in your life, is one really allowed to play bridge?

Bridge is important so yes 🙂

Do we have to shed off all conventions and play the simple most bridge game, keeping only Stayman and Blackwood.
Is it a singles even or Pairs?

Does it mean Husband is important and Boy Friend is Unimportant?
