Video: gwnn remembers jlall

I think many people have heard of the passing of Justin Lall earlier this week. Justin was a bridge rock star/example to me and later also a friend. He was a lot of fun to talk to and there are a lot of funny stories about him around (check out the BW thread about him).

In case you didn’t know Justin, I recommend any improving player to check out his blog: https://justinlall.wordpress.com/ and his posts on BBF and BW. He had a great talent to explain bridge in a clear, funny, and easy way. He offered some free cardplay analysis for BBF members and I was one of the lucky ones who got picked.

If you prefer just reading through the lessons, you have this document:

I was also lucky to be able to interview him a while ago, just before and after the 2015 Trials. As you can see, Justin was also a great interview subject, making the best of my weird questions. 🙂

I loved Justin’s articles for Youth Bridge World. He sounds like a great guy who will be missed by many.

I got to play against him (well serve as “target practice”, mostly) 2-3 times in the past 15 years. A true gentleman, with a ready smile, and consideration for EVERYONE!!! We need more like him in every human endeavor.
