Legionowianin wins the Rainbow Teams Tournament

Legionowianin, the Polish squad made of Slkowalcz, Marcopaw, ICH1 and Jancho won the inaugural BBO Rainbow Teams Tournament, defeating Chris Cowan‘s Canadian team (Scruffy, DrDerby112, RomanKlein and Actuaryman) in the 16 board Final with 34-23 IMPs.

In the 12 board Play-Off, Greek junior team Loukas (Loukas435, Natalius, Hercules J and mixalhsS2), with an average age of 17, met the Polish Terminators (Anzelmoa, Adasko_t, Obiad2 and Szerchan), and their encounter ended with Terminators winning 27-9. We’ll be back! they said when the game ended.

3rd place & 20 BB$: Terminators
4th place & 10 BB$: Loukas

    • Round of 32 with 8-board KO matches until the Finals.
    • In the Finals, teams will play one 16 boards match.

    Will there be a better organized tourney next time? .. appreciate its an experiment, but if theres a delay/ problem, players need to be kept informed of whether or not the event is likely to finish… or when.

    FYI, team Lukas (4th place) consisted of one 16 year old girl and three 17 year old boys!!!

    instead of having 3 rounds of 10 boards, it may be a good idea to have 5 rounds of 6 boards played on a Swiss system to select the top 32 teams.
