The Top Bidders for Set 2021-10
After three consecutive wins, our reigning champion is relegated to second place. This month’s winner, producing and excellent tally of 78/80 with his first competition entry of the year, is:
Pär Ol-Mårs (BBO: olmar) from Stockholm, Sweden
Pär is 65 and has been retired for five years after working the last 12 years as senior design engineer in civil works and as project manager in Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan. He has played bridge since he was 15, but little during his years as an expat. He is now living in Stockholm and, with live play having restarted in Sweden, he is playing 2-3 times a week at Bk St: Erik’s bridge club, where he regularly plays against some of the best players in the world. For the past two years, Pär has been the captain of the Swedish national mixed team, but due to the pandemic he is still waiting to take his team to their first championship.
Congratulations to him, he win 50 BB$ and a 1 month subscription to Prime!
But remember, we also randomly drew a winner from among the participants and…. tadaaaaa the winner is:

A bumper entry this month, with more than 140 players taking part in the October competition. Congratulations to all who made it onto the honors’ board
Remember, if you top the Annual Leaderboard this year, you will win 200 BB$! So come on down to this month’s hands to participate!
Annual competition leaders (after 10 months)
It is tightening at the top as players start to drop their poorest scores. Luwen (66.78 average) has opened an 8-point gap on Hanoi, with Dave Williams just a further 8 points back. Fergus (67.6 average), although currently 60 behind, has one fewer score than the leaders, so his full total will count next month. For the leaders, it is only the difference between the new score and their lowest total (shown in parenthesis after each player), that will be added to their tally. Is this now a four-horse race for the title, or can one of the chasing pack force their way into contention in the final two months?
The leaderboard includes all players with at least eight scores who are averaging more than 50/80.
